Howard Kimber holds a second-Dan black belt
in Taekwondo and has been training for over 25 years, but he is not a martial
arts junkie and ensures classes are always fun, inclusive, and run in an
enjoyable way, not a sweating, screaming boot-camp environment.
He is the father of two teenage daughters and was lucky to have the opportunity
to be the girls’ primary carer through their childhoods, but has a diverse CV
that includes journalist, novelist and graphic designer as job titles.
Howard started Fight Back Women’s Self Defence through a desire to let
women and girls know they all possess the ability to defend themselves, and
that they should not let their enjoyment of life and the world around them be
restricted by fear.
Fight Back runs a wide variety of self defence classes, from school groups of
up to 100 students, to corporate sessions, girls-nights, private sessions for
families and friends, through to one-on-one tuition.
No matter who Howard is teaching he always approaches self defence knowing it is
for a lifetime, and that all his students take away knowledge and confidence
that will stay with them for ever.
